Altstadt-Radlring *going* to get green for cyclers

The above is a picture of the Altstadt-Radlring. It's going green: The Altstadt-Radlring is to be completely colored - in green. The Greens and SPD parties have proposed this new plan. The coloring will increase visibility and create more safety.

Why? Some street sections of the Altstadtring are among the most dangerous for cyclists e.g. Von-der-Tann-Straße (the name already sounds dangerous), or there is no designated bike path at all, like on Frauenstraße.

Not only will the green pavement make cycling safer, but it will also communicate it in a positive way. Green is a safe and attractive color which will make this outstanding cycling infrastructure easy to recognize. And, it will also create more pedestrian space.

Basically, it’s better for everyone’s safety.

I love the idea and hope to see more green bike lanes all around Munich real soon!

Guess the ‘worst country in the world’ for essential expat needs

*Drum rolls please*

Germany.

InterNations recently conducted a survey in 52 countries to collect data on expats. In the category “expat essentials,” which includes bureaucracy, digitization and housing, Germany came in dead last.

I’m surprised they had to conduct a survey to find this out 😂

55 percent of those polled said that German was more difficult to learn compared to an average 38 percent for other languages in the survey and some 56 percent of respondents complained about how hard it is to find a place to live, which is a figure more than double the global average.

But there is hope.

73 percent of respondents said that job security and great salaries are by far the best part of being in Germany.

Do you know about the most luxurious Döner kebab in Munich?

I certainly didn’t. Can you guess the price? It’s 35€.

And that’s not the most ridiculous part of it.

According to the owner Cihan Anadologlu, the demand for his Döner is ever increasing.

Can someone inspect this kebab? Does it come with gold onion rings?

In addition to the classic Döner kebab, you can choose from the “Lüks Döner Kebab” with veal, fresh figs and organic fried eggs, as well as the “Ottomann Kebab” with Ottoman-style rice.

The fancy one pictured here is known as the “from Istanbul to Tokyo” Döner kebab. Which of you is going to give it a try and report back?

What makes it so special? It’s made with some of the finest Japanese meat available.

And only a limited amount of the Japanese meat is delivered each day, about enough for 15 portions. "By 3 p.m. the Döner kebab is usually sold out," reports Anadologlu, who claims he’s already sold at least 8,000 of this “from Tokyo to Turkey” Döner in his kebab shop in Schwabing.

Most regular customers know to order a portion in advance. “If you're lucky, you might get it as a walk-in customer But it's better if you pre-order it," says the owner.

Neni München

If you ever crave cheesecake then I recommend checking out Neni on Bahnhofplatz.

But that’s not the only reason to go there. Neni has a cool ambiance and amazing cocktails.

The first time I went to the bar, I felt *rich* lol.

The name NENI stands for Haya Molcho's sons: Nuriel, Elior, Nadiv and Ilan. Each of them contributes their part to the unique food concept (a fusion of Spanish, Romanian and Israeili flavors) and makes the restaurant a real family business.
