Here’s another poll for y’all:
3 bits of news
Attention people who travel through Laim
Public transport users at Laimer Platz and cars who drive through Laim, you will soon need to find another way to reach your destination.
From next Monday, August 22nd to October 4th, the Laimer underpass between Landsberger Straße and Winfriedstraße will be closed to car traffic.
Bus 51 and the N78 night line will also not stop at these stations: Hirschgartenallee, Kemnatenstraße, Herthastraße, and Winfriedstraße.
The 151 and 168 bus routes are also subsequently affected.
You can find the news here (in German).
Rammstein concert on Theresienwiese won’t happen on NYE
I shared the news that Rammstein’s New Year’s concert might happen in my last newsletter.
Why was it canceled? Too little time to organize a concert for 145,000 spectators.
Also, there were rumors of a bunch of politics happening behind the scenes. The KVR is to blame, some news sources say.
I’m gutted - What about you?
You can find the news here (in German).
Looking for a pet?
Whether for lack of time or renter permission, this year more than 8,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds are living in animal shelters – waiting for you.
These pets have been abandoned and each of their stories is pretty sad.
You can look at their pictures here and adopt them from the Tierheim.

Bonus: Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency reported 5,600+ racial incidents in Germany (it doesn’t look good)
37 percent of reports involved discrimination on the basis of a person’s skin colour or national origin.
“A high proportion of people also faced discrimination on the basis of disability and chronic illness (32 percent) and gender (20 percent). Nine percent faced discrimination on the basis of their religion, and 4 percent due to their sexual identity. Those who reported discrimination said it mostly affected their access to private services (33 percent) and their work (28 percent).”
Hot take: I think Germany needs to impose fines on those who discriminate, no matter how small the offense.
You can find the full news story here.
Question for you: Have you experienced any racial incidents in Munich? I certainly have.

Looking for a Dirndl or Lederhose for Oktoberfest?
This Friday and Saturday there is a second hand market for a good cause to buy “Trachten”.
Usually, traditional Bavarian dresses are very expensive. So if you want a traditional and authentic look for a fraction of the price, but don’t want to shop at C&A, be sure to visit this market. You won’t be disappointed.

Finger-licking halal burger - Taste My Burger
Definitely try them, welove it. It’s number 2 on my burger list. The beef is so juicy that it just melts in your mouth.
This is what you are going to say after you try their cheesy beef burgers with homemade sauce.
They serve one of the best beef bacon burgers in Munich.
Vegetarian? No problem. They also serve vegetarian burgers.
What's unique about Taste My Burger is every ingredient is homemade and fresh, from the sauces and patties to the bacon.
One reviewer said:
"One of the best burger places in Munich. Delicious and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended and not to be missed!"
Pros: 40 different burgers with 40 different tastes, innovative menu, delicious toppings, and a welcoming owner.
