Three news

1/ Drive a bicycle around Munich all-day during Easter

If you have 20-inch tire bicycles, then the good news is that you can drive around Munich or Bavaria for free on easter.

If you are planning an excursion around Munich, then this is the best time.

Below is how it works:

Here's how it works with bikes on the S-Bahn

Use multipurpose areas wherever possible: Multi-purpose areas are available at the beginning and end of each train section. In most of the S-Bahn fleet, this is the right place for your bike. Exceptions are marked with appropriate pictograms. Aisles must not be blocked with bicycles. Please remember to secure your bike well. Freight bikes and bike trailers are not permitted.

Show consideration: People in wheelchairs and strollers also use the multipurpose areas. Mutual consideration is required here. Bicycles are not permitted in train stations for safety reasons and consideration for other passengers.

Choose the right ticket: Bicycles up to and including 20-inch tire size can be carried free of charge if there is sufficient space on the train. For all other bikes, a bicycle day ticket is the right choice. It costs 3.10 euros for the entire MVV network. For the entire Bavarian regional transport network, including MVV and VGN, it costs six euros.

2/ Munich city has donated €2.4Mn in Ukrainian Support

More than 2.4 million euros have been received in the city's donation account "Solidarity Ukraine", and the city has donated another million.

More than 380,000 euros from the donation pot were handed out as a subsidy to support refugees in Munich - for example for the initial catering at the Caritas information point in the main train station, the psychological care of families with children by the Ukrainian Free University, for lessons at the Ukrainian Saturday School, for German courses of the Förderkreis Bayerisches Haus Odessa, for advice and care in the Gorod cultural center or health advice from the women's health center.

3/ Go south, but via Train

Motorway and Easter: Everyone wants to go south at Easter. The ADAC has predicted this in the past few days and therefore warned of traffic jams on German autobahns.

The ADAC predicts a lot of traffic and the risk of traffic jams on the A8, A93, A99, and A9.

If you are planning to go to Italy or Austria, our recommendation would be to via Train.
